TabArk — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 July 2026. Applies to the TabArk browser extension, version 0.1 (phase 1).

The short version

TabArk stores everything locally on your own device. It does not send your tabs, browsing data, or any personal information to us or to any third party. There is no account, no server, no tracking, and no analytics.

What data TabArk stores, and where

When you save tabs into a group, TabArk stores — only in your browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local) on your device:

• the title and URL of each tab you choose to save;
• the tab's favicon URL (the small site icon);
• the group name and timestamp you created;
• a short local backup history (the most recent versions of your saved groups), so you can recover your tabs after an accidental deletion or a browser crash.

This data never leaves your device. It is not transmitted anywhere.

What TabArk does not do

• It does not read or store the content of the pages you visit.
• It does not track your browsing, build a profile, or use cookies.
• It does not contain analytics or advertising.
• It does not send any data to a server — in phase 1 there is no server at all.

Permissions, and why they are needed

• tabs — to read the title and URL of the tabs in your current window when you choose to save them.
• storage / unlimitedStorage — to save your groups and the local backup history on your device.

Exporting your data

You can export all your saved groups as a JSON file at any time using the “Export JSON” button. The file is created on your device and saved wherever you choose. TabArk has no access to it afterwards.

Future cloud sync

A future version may offer optional cloud sync (for example to your own Google Drive or Dropbox). That feature does not exist in this version. If it is added, it will be strictly opt-in and this policy will be updated to describe exactly what is synced and to where, before it is enabled.

Data deletion

Because all data is local, you can delete it at any time: remove groups inside TabArk, or remove the extension to delete all of its stored data from your device.
